Midea was a big winner at this year’s German Innovation Awards with three products winning in their categories and a further two products awarded special mentions.

The impressive haul underlines how Midea home appliances strive to provide ‘surprisingly friendly’ solutions that enable consumers to ‘feel at home’ and encourage them, like the brand’s tagline states: ‘make yourself at home’.

The German Innovation Awards seek to honor products and solutions that focus on what consumers really need and adds real value to their lives. Organized by the German Design Council, the six-strong jury consists of independent experts from across various industries that evaluate products on three simple but critical criteria:

• the level of innovation,
• the benefit to the user, and
• how cost effective it is.

WINNERS 2022

Midea Side-by-Side Refrigerator

The KS-DDX 6.32 WT was a winner in the household appliances category. This refrigerator/freezer combination allows for a maximum cooling experience. The inverter compressor features an inverter fan, resulting in even less vibration and noise, making the unit quieter and more durable. »NoFrost« allows cooling air to automatically dissipate and prevents food from freezing. Goodbye defrosting! The »AllAround Cooling« function cools with circulating air and ensures even cooling performance through optimal air circulation.

Midea Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner

The Midea X8 Floor Cleaner is a latest-generation vacuum cleaner that combines the functions of vacuuming, mopping and washing in one operation, thus wet and dry cleaning can be performed in a single step. The intelligent built-in sensor system automatically adjusts the suction power and the rotation speed of the brush roller. The integrated LCD and associated voice output facilitate operation. The clever self-cleaning feature also supports the Midea MSmartHome App experience.

Midea Smart Dishwasher

Clean dishes the smart way with the Midea SV 8.45 WI built-in dishwasher with digital touch display and IoT functions via the Midea MSmartHome App. Equipped with a visual floor projection light, adjustable baskets and automatic door opener, the 45cm narrow dishwasher with space for 10 standard place settings always shows its operating status. Thanks to its effective »Orbit Spray Wash« (a spray arm with two additional axes of rotation), this fully integrated dishwasher improves the water coverage by 30%.

Midea Fresh Dry Dehumidifier

The smart dehumidifier for a clean home via the Midea MSmartHome App. With just the push of a button, »FreshDry« provides the perfect humidity level. The built-in HEPA H13 filter removes up to 99.95% of viruses, allergens and germs down to a size of 0.3µ. The »Super Ionizer« sterilizes bacteria and purifies the air in your home. The smart app allows remote control from the comfort of your couch in real time.

Midea Washing Machine

Even doing laundry can be enjoyable with Midea MF200 Lunar washing machines. The innovative »Lunar Dial« combi-display combines control and display in one. Equipped with a particularly durable BLDC inverter motor and effective »HealthGuard« system, the Lunar series is available in various capacities (7-10kg) and in energy efficiency classes A and B. With »Smart Control« (only for IoT models via the Midea MSmartHome App), laundry has never been more convenient.

However, 2022 has not been the first year Midea is impressing the German Innovation Awards judges.

Midea Cube

Midea Cube 20 extends the possibilities of a dehumidifier. Large capacity – compact design: the industry’s first dehumidifier in an extendable cubic design. Thanks to the ingenious extended structure, it’s only half the size of a conventional dehumidifier when the extendable part is stowed away. At the same time, it offers an exceptionally large water tank with up to three times more capacity (12l) than conventional dehumidifiers. The »HumidLive« function through the Midea MSmartHome App allows remote control in real time: predict the water level, change humidity, receive an alarm when the water tank is full and much more. Equipped with a drainpipe, the Cube is perfect for continuous use. Thanks to its extendable cubic design, not only does it have an unparalleled aesthetic, but it also stands securely on any work surface.

Midea All Easy Pro

With the innovative All Easy Pro, Midea has reinvented quick air conditioner maintenance. The unique design of the fan housing, including the fan unit, can be disassembled for cleaning within just one minute. The cleaning process is unique and dust-free thanks to the top filter. The electronics are located up front and are easily accessible. As a result, the fan unit and the heat exchanger gain more space and achieve higher energy efficiency (cooling A+++, heating A++). The »Intelligent Eye« smart sensor detects movement in the room and switches the system off if no activity is measurable. A win for the energy balance and surprisingly user-friendliness. Perfect temperature, quiet, economical with a time saving of 41% during installation / 86% during cleaning.

Midea Extractor Hood

Say hello to new cooking experiences. Innovative gesture control, powerful exhaust performance and economical LED lighting are only some of the unique advantages of the Midea Wall Hood HW 7.92. With a simple hand movement, the power and lighting of the 90cm hood can be controlled intuitively – a convenient and hygienic alternative to touch control. The especially »Quiet Fume« hood ensures a peaceful and comfortable cooking experience at only 43dB(A). Thanks to the powerful output of up to 600m3/h, unpleasant smells are efficiently removed from the air. The contemporary stainless-steel design with tempered black glass is not only a visual highlight, but also easy to clean and resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. Also available in 60cm (HW 7.62).

Midea Real Cool

The unique air system of the new air conditioner provides a greater range (8.8m) and continuous cooling without a direct, cold blast of wind. The advanced air duct creates a powerful airflow with an angle of 102° and provides »whole-room« cooling even in the smallest corners. The hose-in-hose special accessory further increases the efficiency of the system. The intake and exhaust air remain outdoors. The unit improves indoor air circulation and solves the problem of mobile air conditioners creating negative pressure in enclosed spaces. No negative pressure, no draught – more efficient, economical and faster compared to single-hose mobile air conditioners. Comes with smart control via the Midea MSmart App and voice command.
